Joseph Aaron (b1959)
(Laguna Beach, California)
Born in 1959. California plein air impressionist with a growing auction record. Self taught
plein air California
painter. After 1994, he began painting in oils and currently building a strong following amongst California art collectors. Many of his favorite works are landscape views
of the Santa Barbara, Ojai, and Morro Bay. He currently has a growing auction record
and website showing his new works.

Peter Adams (b1950) (Pasadena, California)
Born in 1950. Participant and signature member of the PAPA (Plein Air Painters of America). Studied at the Theodore Lukits Academy of Fine Arts. Influenced by Japanese art and oriental design. President of the California Art Club and also a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Various spotlight articles on this painter have appeared in National art magazines such as Art-Talk, American Artist, and Plein Air Magazine (2004). Growing auction record artist.

Daniel Aldana
(Irvine, California)
Began full time painting in 2005 - and active as California scene painter. Scenes included
boats in a harbor, coastal plein air, agricultural landscape, historic places and old homes.
Recently won first place at the 2007 "Less Is More Laguna Plein Air
Miniature Show Nov.18-Jan.2".

Janet Ament (Janet Ament de la Roche)
(Carmel / Monterey, California)
Wife of Victor DiGesu. Born in Hollywood, California in 1917. Ament became active in California with Victor DiGesu
in the early 1950s. After purchasing land in Monterey, the couple travelled, studied, and painted in Europe.
Janet and Victor both studied at the Academie De La Grande and Academie de Andre L'Hote in Paris (1950s). Also studied
in the art schools of Rome and Barcelona (1950s). After travelling in Europe they settled in Monterey and continued
work as abstract expressionist painters becoming well known members in
the local Monterey Peninsula art community. Ament exhibited at the Monterey Museum of Art (1984), San Francisco Museum of Art,
Carmel Art Association 75th Anniversary Exhibition (2002), and was in the Pacific Grove Art Center - A Salute
To 14 Major Artists (Legacy Exhibit). Janet Ament was also known to have studied with Ejnar Hansen and F. Tolles
Chamberlain. Janet's work consisted of abstract figural scenes during her travels in Europe,
still life, and abstract landscapes. Her work had a somewhat primitive look compared to DiGesu, bordering abstract
folk art and with some works having an intentional "drip" quality.

Scott Anthony (San Francisco, California)
Arrived in San Francisco in 1974 and became active as a watercolorist. Won the Purchase Award in 1977 from the Laguna Museum of Art. Member of the National Watercolor Society. Later lived in Mt. Shasta and active with painting local Mt. Shasta scenes, coastal, and ranch landscape views.

John B. Archibald (San Diego, California)
Painter of floral watercolors in a unique close-up
style. Archibald's paintings consist of bright sun drenched floral studies and
images of the inner-garden. The work seen to date consists of several floral
close-ups and the attention to the way the light reflects off each color in the
work. Archibald's work is rare on the open market but may be available soon at
local galleries in San Diego, California.

Clyde Aspevig (b1951) (Montana)
Active in Montana as a realist landscape painter. In 2007, Aspevig won the Masters of The American West Purchase Award for fine art. Exhibited at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art (New York, 2005) and National Arts Club (2001). Married to artist Carol Guzman-Aspevig. Interested in the national art scene and reaching beyond the regional approach or Western artist label. Sells his work at Juniper Ridge Studios in Billings, Montana. Lenore Beran studied at the Art League of Los Angeles. Known to have studied under Hal Reed and Ron Labyorteaux. She was the past President of the Burbank Art Association. Active in North Hollywood from her past gallery located at 6026 Laurel Canyon (North Hollywood, Calif.). Lenore Beran sold her work from her gallery and became well known in the mid to later part of the 20th Century. Listed in various art reference materials such as Samuels, Burbank Art Association, San Fernando Valley Art Club. Signed her work "Lenore Beran". Ovanes Berberian (b1951) (California)

*Born in Lewiston, Maine in 1957 and raised in Livermore Falls, Maine. He moved to California in 1984 and received basic art training at the San Francisco School of Art. He also has trained extensively with the nationally known plein air painter Armand Cabrera. His other major influences are Maynard Dixon and Edward Hopper. Active in Pebble Beach, California as a fine art painter. Brian Blood has been working professionally for over 26 years. Blood is known for his plein air painting of landscape and seascape scenes of the Northern California area. Some of his work includes popular coastal locations such as the Monterey harbor, La Jolla Cove, Blue Fin Cove, Carmel Beach and Pt. Lobos. Blood's standout painting in terms of auction records is his top selling painting, "Into The Valley" which sold for a record price at auction in 2007. Recent awards include winning the 2008 Carmel Art Festival "People Choice" and "Artist's Choice" award for his work titled, "Perkin's Point". Active in Manhattan Beach California in the mid to late 20th Century, Fred Bonn is known for his whimsical paintings in brightly colored orange and yellow backgrounds often of train scenes, country rural scenes, cars, and World War 2 planes incorporated into whimsical illustrative landscape scenes. John Budicin (b1944) (San Bernadino, California)
Resides in San Bernardino, California. Born in Italy and moved to the Los Angeles area. He is currently active as a plein air painter and recently won the Artists Choice Award at the 9th Annual Mission San Juan Capistrano Plein Air Event. Participant and signature member of the PAPA (Plein Air Painters of America) in 2001. In 1999, he also won a first place award at the California Art Club exhibition. He has also won numerous awards by the Redlands Art Association and San Bernardino County museum over the years (1997,1994). Works mentioned in many National art magazines such as Southwest Art, American Artist, and Art of the West (2001-2007). A very talented and collected California plein air artist.

Jack Cassinetto (Sonora, California)

Burl Chalmers (1910-2003) (California)
Born March 25, 1910 in Huntington, Indiana. In the 1930s, Burl Chalmers worked for the Huntington Theater and was featured in the Huntington Herald in the early 1950s. Moved to San Diego after 1959 and worked with Foster and Kleiser (billboard advertising company). While with Foster and Kleiser he received acclaim for his artwork with the San Diego Zoo. Painted seascapes, desert, Navajo subject, trains, and highly detailed Western paintings. Died in San Diego on July 16,2003 at 93. Y. Elbert Cheyno (California) (AICA Founder in 1974)
Y. Elbert Cheyno was a painter and sculptor of Indian and cowboy subject matter. He also painted Western landscapes and California scenes. Cheyno worked in the aircraft industry with Lockheed and American Airlines. In the 1970s, he became active as a professional painter and founded the AICA (American Indian and Cowboy Artists (1974)).

Kevin Courter (b1964) (Carmel, California)
Plein air painter. Painter of nature scenes and the California landscape - influenced by artists such as Sam Hyde Harris and Maurice Braun. His works have been shown at the Carmel Art Festival, Sonoma Plein Air Festival, La Quinta Plein Air Invitational, and the Palm Springs Desert Museum of Art. In 2006, Courter won "Best Of Show" and "Mayors Choice" in the Carmel Art Festival. His plein air works are largely devoted to colorist and modern tonalism - a fine California painter.

Raymond R. Cuevas (b1932) (California)
Plein Air painter and according to his website descibes his style as "painterly realism". Born in Los Angeles and studied with Ed Reep, Donald Graham, Rex Brandt, Elmer Plummer,and Harold Kramer. Currently painting the rural landscapes of Ventura and Santa Barbara. Participated at the 9th Annual Art Auction - Santa Barbara Historical Society (2002). Also exhibited at local Santa Barbara and Pasadena plein air galleries. In 2001, Cuevas had a one man show and exhibition in Ventura called "The Art of Ray Cuevas" (Live Oak Gallery in Ventura, CA). Member of the California Art Club. Growing auction records artist.
