Michael Dancer (1927-2002) (California)
Plein air impressionist painter. Known to have studied with Keith Ward (active with the Palm Springs Desert Art Center). Won 3rd Prize at the Taos Impressionist Show and in 1995 won Gold Medal for Landscape (California Art Club). Member of the California Art Club. Works have been shown in many prominent California art galleries.

Rick Delanty (San Clemente, California)
Emerging California landscape painter, both plein air and studio. Paints with acrylics. Born 1951 in California. Best of Show award in Borrego Springs Invitational 2008. Selected for the Heritage and Coastal Splendor plein air invitational co-sponsored by the Irvine Museum in 2006-07. Also recently selected to participate in the "Best of Plein Air" 2008 exhibition - Laguna Plein Air Painters (at the Laguna College of Art). Work included in Jean Stern's lecture, "100 Years of Plein Air Painting." Limited editions are nationally distributed, with galleries in San Clemente and Santa Barbara, California, as well as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Memberships in the LPAPA, SoCal PAPA, California Art Club, and Christians in the Visual Arts.

Gil Dellinger (b1956) (Carmel, California)
California pastel master painter - named by the Pastel Society of America. In 2001, Gil Dellinger won the Artists Choice Award at Carmel Art Association's Plein Air Festival. Curator for museum exhibition (25 Artist Paint Yosemite - Haggin Museum). He also was co-curator with John Cosby for a museum exhibition entitled, "From Sea To Shining Sea" (this exhibit toured the Country from 2003-06 showing in twelve museums). Dellinger is also a member of the California Art Club, Plein Air Painter of America, and the Pastel Society of America.

Louis DeMore (b1939) (Los Osos, California)
Works shown in national art magazines such as American Artist, Art of the West, and Southwest Art. DeMore's work includes coastal painting and still life. Participated and signature member of the PAPA (Plein Air Painters of America) in 2001.

Karl Dempwolf (b1939) (California)
Arrived in the United States from Germany in 1954 and studied art in Los Angeles. Influenced by plein air and the work of William Wendt. Current member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, and The Conservancy Painters. Has won several awards for his work: The Prestigious National Parks Foundation Award, Discovery Award Winner (Art of California Magazine 1992,1993). Auction record artist.

Vladimir Derkach (b1964)
(Santa Monica, California)
Historical structure and Grand Canyon landscape painter. Studied in Russia and came to Santa Monica, California in 1996. Derkach was a
participant at the L.A. Art Expo (1996). In 1997, he had a one man show at Marina Fine
Arts in Los Angeles. In 1998, his work was featured in a group show put on by the Malibu Art Association (Frederick Weisman Museum).
He continued to have one man shows at Marina Fine Arts (1999, 2001).
His recent work in 2008 of the Grand Canyon and cliff-view landscapes
have received gallery acclaim. One to watch...

Victor Di Gesu (DiGesu)
(Carmel / Monterey, California) (California Modernism)
Husband of Janet Ament de la Roche. Born in Long Meadow, MA in 1914 and came to California
to study art at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. He became an animator at Walt Disney
for two years before entering the service in 1947. After the war he met and married artist
Janet Ament. In the early 1950s, the couple purchased land in Monterey.
Focused on becoming serious artists, they then travelled and studied painting in Europe.
Janet and Victor both studied at the Academie De La Grande and Academie de Andre L'Hote in Paris (1950s). They
also studied in the art schools of Rome and Barcelona. After travelling in Europe they settled in Monterey and continued
work as abstract expressionist painters becoming well known members in
the local Monterey Peninsula art community. DiGesu exhibited at the Monterey Museum of Art (1982),
San Francisco Museum of Art (in an exhibit with Richard Diebenkorn, Sam Francis, Frank Lobdell, David Park, Elmer Bischoff, Hassel Smith, and Judith Deim).
His work was also featured at the exclusive Carmel Art Association 75th Anniversary Exhibition in 2002. DiGesu's
work was highly expressive, full of bright color and European impressionist influences. His work both as an artist
and teacher helped to bring new styles of painting to the Monterey area.
DiGesu's painting subject matter include figural expression, floral still life, Carmel street scenes.
A very talented and overlooked early California modernist.

Dennis Doheny (b1956) (Santa Barbara, California)
Born in Los Angeles and active in Santa Barbara, California. Active as a plein air painter since 1997 and word spread about this artist via Art Talk magazine. In 1999, he became the featured front cover artist in American Artist. The following year he was named "artist to watch" in Southwest Art Publications. Received 1st place in the Carmel Plein Air Competition (1998) and in 2000 received the "Granville Redmond Memorial Purchase Prize". One to watch.

William Dorsey (b1942) (Ojai, California)
Ojai, California impressionist. Active in landscapes and impressionist California scenes. Dorsey has painted and shown his works in Vermont, Taos, New Mexico, Sun Valley, Idaho, Wyoming, as well as California and Alaska. Highest prices are paid for his California scenes. Follows the traditions of the California impressionist but more of a tonalist style. Very collectible and growing auction record artist.

Neal Doty (b1941) (Palm Springs, California)
Active in the Palm Springs, California area. In fact, several years ago he could be found selling his work at the weekly downtown Palm Springs art walk and street fair. Current style includes a wonderful brown-focused Southwest cubist style with imagery inside shapes. Neal Doty was an active member of the Desert Art Center in the 1960s and served on the committee along with Axel Linus and Wilton McCoy. His current work leans towards modernism and cubism with a recent auction record in 2007 based in Los Angeles. Neal's work has also recently been featured at a show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brad Faegre (La Habra Heights, California)
(Pastel Artist)
Popular contemporary pastel artist based in California. Faegre is a nature and landscape painter - his subjects include the Grand Canyon, Arizona and New Mexico desert scenes. In 1992 he was considered a "master pastelist" by the Pastel Society of America. Faegre's work has also been featured in top art magazines such as American Artist, Pastel Artist International, and the Pastel Journal. One to watch.

Lynne Fearman
(California)
Currently active as a contemporary California plein air painter. Member and President of the Mid-Valley Arts League (2006-2008). Won "Best in Show" and the "Don Miles Award" at the recent San Gabriel Fine Arts Show. Fearman's work was recently featured in the October 2008 issue of Southwest Art Magazine ("Artist to Watch" and "Collectors Corner"). Two of her works were recently feature in South Pasadena for the Contemporary Masters show at the Pasadena Museum of History (2008 exhibition). A talented painter and one to watch.

Born in Canada. Art teacher and collectible California impressionist. Signs, "Don Foster". Don Foster was widely exhibited in California - mid 20th Century. He was a veteran member of the famed Palm Springs Desert Art Center with a significant web presence. Don Foster organized and taught annual outdoor classes in Grand Teton and Yosemite National Parks, the Canadian Rockies, and along the coasts of California, Oregon, and Hawaii. Often, the workshops also offered optional instruction by oil painter Darwin Duncan or watercolorist Robert Landry.
