F.N. Parker (California)

According to the artist Grandson, Parker worked for the Velvetone Poster Company for 25 years as a color scheme artist. Known works include landscapes and a painting of Busch Gardens in Van Nuys, California. A talented painter - most of his works are held by the family.

Violet Parkhurst (Rancho Palos Verde, California)

Collectible California artist, Violet Parkhurst. Studied the arts at the Los Angeles State College and in Mexico City. Some of her early work includes paintings of native people, fruit markets and native life (at this time she rented a home in Natal, Brazil and was also a writer). In her early period, she also was known to have painted abstract subject matter such as nudes and cats. Parkhurst was also interested in horses - this is a fine example that shows this influence and from her early semi-abstract period. She later became well known for her realist seascape painting and California coastal pieces - her work was published with the Walter Foster art series and in a published 1972 book entitled, 'Parkhurst on Seascapes".

Nick Pasko (20th Century) (Western Artist / California)

Nick Pasko appears to have been active in the Western part of the United States in the late 20th Century. Known works include oil paintings of seascape, landscape, Western subject matter - Grand Canyon. Possibly Native American - as suggested by the Thunderbird located between his first and last name. He often signed his work "Nick Pasko" or "Nick --Thunderbird symbol-- Pasko". A skilled artist.

Dan Persinger (California)

Plein air artist. Persinger's work is often compared to an earlier California period when eucalyptus tree landscape painting was popular. A contemporary look at the influences of the arts and crafts period of painting. Some of Persinger's pieces are more experimental than the past and can be described as more "colorist" in style. Eucalyptus and wildflower is a popular subject matter for the artist. His work also includes painted art pottery with similar subjects. One to watch...

Camille Przewodek (b1947) (Petaluma, California)

Known as a plein air colorist; her style concentrates on the saturation of color. Influenced by Henry Hensche from the Cape School of Art in Provincetown MA. Camille was the co-founder of the Pacific Academy of Fine Arts. Member of the Laguna Beach Plein Air Painters Association. Won "First Place Painting" at the 2000 Sausalito Art Festival. Przewodek's talent was recently exhibited at the Laguna Beach Plein Air Annual Invitational Competition (Oct.2007). She also won a Second Place award in 2004 at the "Seascapes, Rivers & Lakes Competition by International Artist" event. Her work has been featured in art publications such as Southwest Art, Art of the West, and Plein Air Magazine.

Charles S. Pyle (Petaluma, California)

Studied in San Francisco and influenced by the American illustration - "He learned to draw under Barbara Bradley's tutelage, and to be an illustrator under an apprenticeship with James Sanford." After 1977 he became most active as a painter...recently active at the Sonoma Plein Air 2005 and 2006. A talented artist.

Gary Ray (b1952) (Venice, California)

California plein air artist. Born May 30, 1952. A very popular modern impressionist painter active in Venice, California. His larger works are currently being auctioned at major California auction houses alongside vintage pieces from important California plein air painters. Influenced by Edgar Payne and Hanson Puthuff. Painter of the modern California landscape but in the traditional plein air impressionist style. Considered a major player in 21st Century modern impressionism. Not one to exhibit much with other painters - he is currently one of California's most sought after contemporary plein air artists.

Barry John Raybould (Carmel, California)

Raybould is a member of the Carmel Art Association, California Art Club, and an associate member of the Laguna Plein Air Association. His bold colorist style was influenced by California impressionists such as Joseph Kleitsch, Edgar Payne, William Ritschel, Franz Bischoff, and Guy Rose. Raybould is a talented figural and landscape painter with many awards and one man shows under his belt. In 2002, Raybould won The Honorable Mention Award at the Carmel Plein Air Festival. In 2006, he won First Prize for his seascape scene at the Seaside Art Competition. In 2007, Barry's work was shown at the 96th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of Art. His work was also shown at the Arts for the Parks Exhibition (Gold Medal Award Winner 2007). A fine plein air painter.

Rodolfo Rivademar (b1957) (Long Beach, California)

Member of the California Art Club and Long Beach Arts Club. Rivademar is best known for his plein air coastal painting with heavy attention to color. His work has been featured in several art publications such Southwest Art, Art-Talk, and American Art Review. His plein air works have also been well received by major fine art galleries. One to watch.

Peggi Kroll Roberts (Angels Camp, California)

Bold and colorful plein air paintings of women and children on the beach. Work shown at the CAC Gold Medal Exhibition in Pasadena and the yearly Laguna Plein Air Invitational. Wife of Ray Roberts. Her works have a very loose impressionist style - slightly minimal with the emphasis on color and emotion..and what the artist decribes as "painting the pause". Ray Roberts (b1954) (Angels Camp, California)

Plein Air painter residing in the Sierra Foothills (Angels Camp) and paints with his wife Peggi Kroll Roberts. Born in Santa Monica, he was known to have been influenced by an early artist neighbor, Evelyn Nunn Miller. He later lived in Arizona but after a visit to La Jolla in 1996 he and his wife Peggi Roberts decided to move back to California and settled in Angels Camp where they are now actively painting. In 2000, Ray won best of show at the American Impressionist Society Exhibition in Cincinnati, Ohio. His work has been featured in the book "Plein Air Painting of Santa Catalina Island" by Stern, Rose, and Siple. Ray Roberts studied under Clyde Aspevig (Montana), John Asaro, Mark Daily (Colorado), and Dan McCaw. Currently developing strong auction records.

Junn Roca (b1948) (California)

Born in 1948. Emerging fine art painter - California artist. Won an honorable mention at the 9th Annual Mission San Juan Capistrano Plein Air Event. Recently won 2nd Place Award at the 7th Annual Sights of California Exhibition at the Bowers Museum. Junn Roca's work is being auctioned alongside vintage California impressionist works at major auction houses. Nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in Animaniacs and Pinky and The Brain - known and successful as as an animator in Hollywood circles.
